No danger to people or the environment - incident on 9.11.24 at Steuler in Siershahn

News

On Saturday, 09.11.24 at 9.27 pm, an incident occurred in the production process that triggered the fire department's alarm.

A safety valve in an autoclave had triggered, allowing pressure to escape in a controlled manner for approximately four minutes.
At the same time, the fire department was automatically alerted. They were quickly able to confirm on site that there was no personal injury or environmental damage and that neither the public nor employees were in any danger.

Internal and external experts are currently investigating the cause.

With around 570 employees, the Berggarten site in Siershahn is the Steuler Group's largest site in the Westerwald region. The management, administration and sales of the Linings division are based here, as are the Coating Systems and Rubber Linings production units, the factory rubberizing department and the assembly department. One of the largest autoclaves in Europe has been in operation on the extensive site since 2019. An autoclave is used to process workpieces whose rubber lining is cured under pressure and temperature.
